| For the week of May 18th through May 24th, the all-volunteer Yardley Makefield Fire Company responded to 21 calls.
May 18 --- Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for a domestic rescue at William Penn Middle School on Derbyshire Road, where a student got his finger stuck in a desk. The second call was for a mutual aid assist to Langhorne (Station 21), for Engine 80 to respond for a rubbish fire at the Middletown Community Park, on Yardley Langhorne Road.
May 19 --- Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Jacob Drive, in the Makefield Brook development. The second call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Bramble Court, in the Clearview Estates development.
May 20 --- Dispatched for three calls. The first call, in the early morning hours, was dispatched for truck that was leaking fuel in the area of the I-95 rest stop. The second call was for a fire investigation in the wooded area opposite the homes on Brookhaven Drive, in the Makefield Glen development. The third call was dispatched for a dwelling fire on Countess Drive, off Kings Road.
May 21 --- Dispatched for four calls. The first call was dispatched for an activated fire alarm at the Yardley Makefield Library on Edgewood Road. The second call was for a marine rescue for a boat in distress on the Delaware River, in the area of the railroad bridge. The third call was dispatched for a special assignment to assist the squad with a patient at Sunrise Assisted Living, on Stony Hill Road. The fourth call was to again assist the squad with a patient at Sunrise Assisted Living.
May 22 --- Dispatched for three calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at the Hampton Inn, in the Lower Makefield Corporate Center on Stony Hill Road. The second call was for a marine rescue of three boys in the Delaware River, in the area of Kathy Drive. The third call was for a dwelling fire on Brookhaven Drive, in the Makefield Glen development.
May 23 --- Dispatched for three calls. The first call was dispatched for a brush fire in the rear of a home on Farmview Drive, off Dolington Road. The second call was for an activated fire alarm on Yorkshire Drive, in the Afton Estates development. The third call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Lily Pond Drive, off Bluestone Drive.
May 24 --- Dispatched for four calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at the Sovereign Bank, on South Main Street. The second call was a special assignment to assist the squad with a patient on Spruce Mill Drive, in the Makefield Glen development. The third call was for burning electrical wires in a home on North Main Street, near Dolington Road. The fourth call was for a house struck by lightning on Liberty Drive,
